TPEC is a privately owned company that operates the Emergency Department within St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba. Immediate, comprehensive emergency care is available to adults and children, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays. The Emergency Department has highly experienced doctors and nurses who deliver prompt and thorough emergency care.

How It Works

Triage

TPEC is efficient and effective when it comes to triage.

Our private triaging rooms and registered nurse will assess your medical issue and categorise you in accordance to the Australian Triage Scale (ATS).

Category 1: Treatment Acuity - IMMEDIATELY

Category 2: Treatment Acuity - 10 minutes

Category 3: Treatment Acuity - 30 minutes

Category 4: Treatment Acuity - 60 minutes

Category 5: Treatment Acuity - 120 minutes

ATS is only used to describe medical urgency. Separate measures are required to describe severity, complexity, quality of care, workload and staffing.

Please note, depending of the severity of your presentation you may have to wait for treatment.
